Mind the Gap
The world we bequeath to our children is getting more dangerous by the day. The tendency toward individual survival mentality is failing. It fails not only our need to work together to find effective solutions to our common problems; but it also fails the next generation. Generation X and Y were observed a self-serving culture lead us into financial collapse, political partisanship and general distrust of people and institutions.
The next generation – the Millenniums – are growing up more socially conscious, more interested in making a difference. Can they overcome the sense of self-preservation and cynicism of the generations before them. If we hope to see them use their incredible power for good, it is up to us to help ‘Mind the Gap.’
In this piece I call on Spider-Man to help us explore coming of age, facing the social challenges before us and remaining loyal to the call for interdependence among us.
