Monning Appointed To Committee On Arts, Entertainment, Sports, Tourism And Internet Media
(SACRAMENTO, CA) - Assemblymember Bill Monning (D-Carmel) has been appointed to be a member of the Assembly Committee on Arts, Entertainment, Sports, Tourism, and Internet Media by Assembly Speaker Karen Bass (D-Los Angeles).
The Assembly Committee on Arts, Entertainment, Sports, Tourism, and Internet Media oversees programs and policies affecting the recording, motion picture and other entertainment industries, tourism and arts programs and museums, professional and amateur sports including the State Athletic Commission and the regulation of athlete agents, and Internet media.
"The travel and tourism industry is the second biggest employer in the 27th Assembly District and I am pleased that the Speaker believes I can make a contribution to the policy decisions and legislation that will be heard by the Committee," stated Assemblymember Monning. "I am looking forward to working with Chairman Davis and the other Committee members."
In addition to sitting on the Assembly Committee on Arts, Entertainment, Sports, Tourism and Internet Media, Assemblymember Monning serves as the Chair of the Assembly Committee on Labor and Employment and serves as a member on the Assembly Committees on Budget, Environmental Safety and Toxics Materials, and Judiciary, as well as being a member of the Joint Legislative Audit Committee.
