Evening Insight: Chelsie Hill Challenges Teen Driving Fatalities
Early in the morning, on a day that would have been like any other day, Jon Hill received a phone call. The call was from his ex-wife informing him that their daughter, Chelsie Hill had been in an auto accident and that she had been medi-vaced to an unspecified hospital in San Francisco, a two hour drive by car. The events of that morning changed John and Chelsie Hill's lives and propelled them from trauma to recovery. Now, Chelsie Hill, who has been a state champion level dancer, speaks out to inform other teens about her experiences.
In this edition of Evening Insight, host Christian Marechal first interviews California Highway Patrol Officer Bob Lehman about the Start Smart Teen Driving Program, then Jon Hill relates to Christian what it is like to receive "the call that represents every parents nightmare." Finally, Chelsie Hill joins Christian to relate her inspirational story of overcoming adversity.
This program was recorded live and in sequence at Cafe 316. It was produced and Directed by Timothy Barrett. Mike Martines was first camera operator and technical advisor, and Rick Chelew was audio engineer. |
