Black Art Celebration
Seaside City Hall could not be thought of as anything but fully engaged with the community, and that has certainly been the case during Black History Month. The City Hall was designed to serve as an art gallery, and as such it was perfectly suited to host a celebration of the work of Black artists.
The art opening was a grand event during which the City Council Chambers functioned as a venue for speeches and awards. The walls of the outer hall ways were bedecked with art installations by various local Black artists, and event attendees had opportunities to not only enjoy the artworks, but also to visit with the artists themselves.
